Second post on here! A bit late for what I’m updating on though…
Anywayyyy, after riding in the car for hours to go home from Long Island, I woke up first thing in the morning to go to Manhattan with Academy to see Ragtime. It was a bit crazy getting there, long story lol. But we made it to New York in one piece! We had lunch at Schnippers, the chicken sandwich and mango lemonade were quite yummy!
Then we walked to the subway to get to the Lincoln Center Theater. Of course the subway was running late or something so it didnt stop at 66th st and went straight to 72nd. So we had to walk to 66 from 72. Walking in New York, yay! (Sarcasm)
But once we got there we found our seats and got our playbills. I was super excited that we got the pride month playbills!

The show started and holy crap it was so good! We saw the Tony winning Casey Levi as “Mother” who gave an amazing performance, as did the whole cast! I had goosebumps nearly the whole show! I also cried five times, its extremely emotional and has some pretty heavy content.
And after the show we got to have a backstage tour too! I am still reeling from the fact that I got to stand on a real Broadway stage! (The 3rd biggest on Broadway!) We saw the costume racks, the call booth, the props, we got to look down into the orchestra pit, it was so much fun! Pictured below me on stage and with the Ghost Light!

Below is the piano used on stage!

Overall it was so cool and I had a great time! After the tour we made our way to Pop’s Pizza (I think that was the name) for some quick dinner. Oh lord that pizza was delicious! Pizza will never be the same for me.
I also got to see Times Square on the way out of New York! (Though I had a bad headache by that point so it wasnt quite as cool)

Final Thoughts: New York is loud, cramped, and dirty; but I loved it! I’d never wanna live there but I’d love to visit again! Shout out to Ms Kardell, Ms Benedeck, and the performing arts academy for making such an awesome trip happen!
